Svenja Holberg, M.A. (she/her)
I am Svenja Holberg, a sociology graduate with a keen interest in social equity and social diversity. In the Equal Opportunity Office at Osnabrück University, I mainly coordinate the Dialoginitiative "Gender-equitable university culture" on the topic of "intersectional gender equality work". I also work on gender equality-related event programs for university staff and students.
Topics and issues relating to gender equality and diversity have always accompanied me during my sociology studies. I have dealt intensively with the following focal points:
- Social Inequality
- Gender Studies
- Work and Knowledge
- Racism Research
I realized early on that an intersectional perspective is essential in order to be able to describe and analyze the diverse and overlapping forms of discrimination and their effects on societies, organizations and life realities.
In my professional career to date, I have mainly worked at the interface between science and society. I have been particularly interested in how scientific findings can be communicated and how social change processes can be shaped based on knowledge. This is exactly what I find particularly exciting about my current work in the Dialoginitiative project: here, gender equality measures at universities is being continuously developed through sound practical knowledge and scientific expertise.
