"Deutschland"-Scholarships
Osnabrück University has been participating in the "Deutschland"-Scholarships program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for years in order to support its outstanding students at an early stage and in this way support the training of qualified young talent. The scholarships of 300 euros per month are funded equally by the federal government and private sponsors, foundations or companies. This means that the federal government supports a private donation of 150 euros per month with an additional 150 euros. The number of scholarships awarded depends on the amount of private funds raised.
Funding for the selected scholarship holders begins on October 1 and is limited to one year. Subject to the availability of funds, an extension is possible within the standard period of study; in any case, an application for an extension must be submitted.
Students who are enrolled in undergraduate degree programs or consecutive Master's degree programs at Osnabrück University and who have not exceeded the standard period of study for the degree program are eligible for funding. Scholarships are awarded in accordance with the Guidelines (PDF, 403 kB). Achievements and aptitude can be demonstrated in particular by
- the average grade of the higher education entrance qualification, taking particular account of the individual grades relevant to the chosen field of study
- the special qualification that entitles the applicant to study in the respective degree program at Osnabrück University
- the academic achievements to date, in particular the ECTS points achieved or the results of an intermediate examination, for students on a Master's degree course, also the final grade of the previous degree course.
The overall assessment of the applicant's potential will also take into account
- special achievements, awards and prizes, previous professional activity and internships,
- extracurricular or extracurricular commitment such as voluntary work, social, social, higher education or political commitment or participation in religious societies, associations or clubs,
- special personal or family circumstances such as illnesses and disabilities, caring for own children, especially as a single parent, or close relatives in need of care, working in the family business, gainful employment while studying, family origin or a migration background.
