AI Campus
Accompanying technological change with research and shaping it in a human way
The AI Campus at Osnabrück University is the result of many years of profile development in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). It combines the research-intensive and application-oriented subjects of Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Information Systems and Mathematics research groups.
Research
In addition to the information technology and cognitive science aspects, the legal, social science and ethical implications of the increasing use of AI also play a key role in the relevant research activities.
Around 20 professors and over 100 research assistants currently work at the AI Campus. These include four relevant endowed professorships funded by industry and the city and district of Osnabrück. The area will be sustainably strengthened in terms of personnel with the acquisition of further professorships from the current federal/state programmes on artificial intelligence and/or digitalization. For example, the University was extremely successful in securing the approval of additional professorships from the state of Lower Saxony for new digitalization professorships.
