German Studies Exchange Programme (LWW)
Since 2007 the Language Center has been hosting German Studies students from Chinese partner universities for a one-year tailored-made exchange programme. The different modules in our German Studies Exchange Programme (LWW) aim to refine and enhance the participants’ knowledge of the German language, linguistics, literature, and cultural studies, so that they are well prepared for academic studies in a German language environment.
Over the course of two semesters participants in the LWW programme complete courses in four different modules: German as a Foreign Language, German Studies, German as an Academic Language and Cultural Studies. Moreover, just like other exchange students at Osnabrück University, participants may choose additional optional courses depending on their area of interest or field of study.
German Language or German Studies students from Chinese partner universities with at least intermediate level proficiency in German are eligible to apply.
Participants will be selected in cooperation with our colleagues at the respective departments at our partner universities in China.
A written and oral selection test is held each year in March. A successful selection test qualifies students for admission to the LWW programme and Osnabrück University in the subsequent winter semester. The LWW programme is a fee-paying programme.
