Job description

Your areas of work are diverse and include network infrastructure, server, storage and backup systems, application and customer support and workstation systems:

  • Planning and configuring information technology systems
  • Isolating and rectifying faults and errors
  • Creating system documentation and training users

How is the vocational training structured?

As a prospective IT specialist specializing in system integration, you will work in the IT industry, in companies in almost all economic sectors as well as in organizations and in the public sector. You will design, install and administer networked IT systems for internal and external users. At Osnabrück University, you will work in the public service at a university in Lower Saxony as an academic support staff member.

The training period is usually three years in accordance with the training regulations.

What requirements do I need to fulfill?

  • Secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) or better with good grades in mathematics/computer science
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Ideally, you have a keen interest in IT systems technology
  • You have a strong interest in dealing with IT hardware, different operating systems and applications
  • You have gained experience in the administration of IT systems through internships or as a hobby
  • As a team player, you enjoy getting involved, are curious about challenges and are friendly and open with colleagues
