International Mentoring Course IMCourse
Each summer semester, the International Office and the Language Center jointly offer an International Mentoring Course (IMCourse) designed to give local and international students the opportunity to gain, share, and reflect on intercultural experiences. The next IMCourse will take place between April 15 and July 15, 2025.
This course brings local and international students together to experience intercultural diversity and develop an understanding of different perspectives. Osnabrück students learn how to work as mentors for international exchange and degree-seeking students. They help international course participants integrate into everyday university life. Exchange students meet local students for the first time and get an insight into German student life, helping them to adjust to everyday university life. Together, participants discuss and reflect on intercultural similarities and differences based on selected topics such as food culture and work culture and debate culture. They record their findings in a portfolio presented at the end of the course. The course is complemented by intercultural training by tutors from the Institute of Psychology.
