Osnabrück University Foundation
The primary purpose of (PDF, 88 kB) the Osnabrück University Foundation, which was established in 2001, is to provide additional funding for research projects and to support young academics.
As the initiator, the University Society initially endowed the foundation with a share capital of over € 100,000 (200,000 German marks). Since then, the foundation's assets have grown to around € 1.5 million thanks to donations, primarily from private individuals and the takeover of the assets of the Josefine Charlotte Schiffer Foundation, which was dissolved at the end of 2012.
Donations have also been made in the form of endowments, including the collection of picture postcards by Prof. Dr. Sabine Giesbrecht.
