Further training and personnel development

Our continuing education and personnel development programs offer our university employees the opportunity to continuously expand their professional expertise and personal skills and to adapt to the dynamic requirements of the university sector.

Through targeted training, workshops and networking, Osnabrück University promotes the individual career development of all target groups and thus also strengthens the competitiveness of the entire institution. The offers are based on the idea of lifelong learning and the strategic goals of the university.

For all employees : Training and further education program

All employees of Osnabrück University have the right to participate in the courses of the further education and training program during their employment. These are aimed at all status groups and range from workshops for scientists (e.g. "Recognizing plagiarism") to information events on everyday working life (e.g. "Using data protection correctly") and IT training (e.g. "Solving office problems in everyday life").

Thinking outside the box!

In addition to the programs for our university members, we offer programs for teachers from other universities, for teachers at schools and for psychotherapists.

Further offers for all employees

For their professional and personal development, Osnabrück University employees have access to other formats in addition to the traditional continuing education program. These range from e-learning and administrative courses to language courses and stays abroad for administrative staff. Numerous events are also offered outside the university. Employees of Osnabrück University are entitled to educational leave for these. University members can find more information at  UOS intern.

For teachers : University didactics

The University Didactics team is a competent and committed point of contact for lecturers on all matters relating to teaching and learning at Osnabrück University. Services include a range of qualification offers, comprehensive information services for lecturers at Osnabrück University and, of course, personal advice.

For doctoral candidates and postdocs : Interdisciplinary qualification

The PhD/Postdoc Career Center (ZePrOs) offers researchers in early career phases an interdisciplinary qualification program tailored to the specific needs of the respective qualification phases. In addition, the ZePrOs brings together the offerings of other central university institutions in a joint course and event program that is published every semester.

Qualification phases for scientists : Mentoring

The mentoring programs organized by the PhD/Postdoc Career Center (ZePrOs) are among the targeted and process-oriented continuing education programs for academics in qualification phases at Osnabrück University. With this program, the university offers qualified doctoral candidates and postdocs optimal support in their professional orientation and career planning.

Inter-university continuing education (HüW)

Inter-University Continuing Education (HüW) is aimed at all university and college employees and supplements their own continuing education and training. The program offers courses for subject-specific qualifications, key qualifications, but also leadership and change skills. As a partner university of HüW, Osnabrück University offers all academic and administrative staff the opportunity to take advantage of this program.
