INU Short-term Programs
In April 2023, Osnabrück University joined the International Network of Universities (INU), an international network of currently eleven universities founded in 1998. Its members are committed to enhancing their international orientation and aim to collaboratively develop and design innovative programs and teaching methods.
The network offers various programs for students, which are briefly presented below. The application and selection process for participation in the programs is handled by the International Office of Osnabrück University. Detailed information on the activities and programs is available on the INU website.
- Annual student seminar held at Hiroshima University since 2006 around August 6, the day commemorating the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
- The overarching theme is Global Citizenship and Peace.
- 10-day program with lectures, interactive seminars, and cultural activities.
- Open to students of all disciplines enrolled at Osnabrück University.
- The program requires a good command of the English language and a willingness to actively participate.
- Date: every year in August
- Announcement: annually between February and March by the International Office of Osnabrück University
- Funding options: Application for a travel grant of €1,000 possible. Basic information on financial support options for stays abroad is provided by the International Office.

- Open to Bachelor and Master students of all disciplines enrolled at Osnabrück University.
- The program requires a good command of the English language and a willingness to actively participate.
- Date: every year in January
- Announcement: annually approximately in September by the International Office of Osnabrück University

Experience report ISC 2025 (PDF, 129 kB)
- 12-month online program consisting of three compulsory and three elective modules, offered by INU since 2024.
- The overarching theme is Global Citizenship and Sustainable Futures.
- The program is delivered entirely online and includes a mix of pre-recorded content, live virtual sessions, and student group work / presentations.
- Learning takes place alongside students from other INU institutions, giving participants the opportunity to interact with students from around the world.
- Open to students of all disciplines enrolled at Osnabrück University.
- The program requires a good command of the English language and a willingness to actively participate.
- INU issues a certificate to all students who successfully complete the program.
- Timing: twice a year (starting in March or October)
- Announcement: annually approximately in January (March cohort) and August (October cohort) via the International Office at Osnabrück University
