To promote individual career development, ZePrOs offers a wide range of services to researchers in qualification phases - in conjunction with individual consultation.
While "Karriere konkret" ("Career direct") offers bundled services aimed at providing needs-oriented support for doctoral candidates and postdocs in career transition phases, "In Führung gehen" ("Leadership coaching") offers postdoctoral researchers support with questions related to taking on leadership responsibilities in academia.
An Offer for Doctoral Candidates, Postdocs and Junior Professors
With "Career direct", ZePrOs supports researchers in qualification phases with specific steps that contribute to their individual career development. Funding is provided for targeted measures in career transition phases within academia and when switching to non-university fields of work.
"Career direct" supports you with the following measures:
- Professional orientation and preparation for application and appointment procedures [e.g. individual coaching to develop skills profiles to open up professional fields for academics and to prepare for applications, interviews and appointments]
- Targeted development of professional networks within and outside academia [e.g. coverage of travel costs to (international) network partners (only for trips directly related to the next career step), coverage of costs for participation in job and trade fairs]
- Self-marketing [e.g. support in creating profiles on social platforms and online networks, such as XING, LinkedIn, femconsult, own homepage]

Individual Coaching Offer for Postdocs and Junior Professors
Professional leadership skills play an increasingly important role in the academic context. Good leadership has a direct impact on collaboration and the success of your team. This is why leadership experience is one of the central components of the academic qualification profile alongside research and teaching.
Individual coaching can support you with taking on leadership responsibility in your role as postdoc or junior professor. The coaching gives you the opportunity to reflect on your leadership role and to strengthen and expand your leadership skills. The coachings are conducted by experienced external coaches who are familiar with the academic context.
Coaching questions can be, for example
- How do I motivate my team?
- How do I conduct conflict discussions?
- How do I select new employees?
- How do I assert my interests?
- How do I moderate decisions?
- How do I make time for my research?
- How do I avoid stress?

To register at ZePrOs, we ask doctoral candidates to send us the completed and signed Registration Form (PDF, 122 kB) and a copy ot the Confirmation of Supervision (PDF, 12.81 kB) (only in German) by Post or E-mail). Registration is possible at any time.
Postdocs are requested to send an informal application by e-mail to: zepros@uni-osnabrueck.de, enabling them to enroll in courses offered by ZePrOs.
