German/German Studies - Dual-Subject Bachelor
The German/German Studies course at Osnabrück University is divided into the areas of literature and linguistics and covers the entire spectrum of German literature and language. Focal points include epochs of German literature and genre theory, literature for children and young people, text interpretation, grammatical structures of German, orthography, first and second language acquisition, literature of the Middle Ages (medieval studies) and the early modern period. In addition to these subject-specific components, the course also includes German didactics.
In the dual-subject Bachelor, you study two core subjects or combine a major subject with a minor subject. German/German Studies is offered as a core and minor subject. Please note the valid subject combinations.

The German/German Studies degree program at Osnabrück University is divided into the areas of literature and linguistics and covers the entire spectrum of German literature and language. Focal points include epochs of German literature and genre theory, literature for children and young people, text interpretation, grammatical structures of German, orthography, first and second language acquisition, literature of the Middle Ages (medieval studies) and the early modern period. The didactics of German should also be emphasized.
Germanists find career opportunities in adult education, journalism, press and public relations work, documentation, cultural and educational management, associations and foundations as well as at universities. With the appropriate additional qualifications, interesting areas of work can also open up in the business world.
A subsequent specialist Master's degree also opens up the possibility of taking on management and leadership roles in the aforementioned professional and occupational fields.
