A warm welcome to you! I am Dr.ⁱⁿ Sabine Jösting, a passionate advocate of equal opportunity and educational justice. My professional career began after graduating from high school in the mid-1980s with an apprenticeship as a carpenter, which not only gave me manual skills and a down-to-earth attitude, but also an early awareness of the challenges of gender equality.

After my apprenticeship, I studied education science at Osnabrück University. In the years that followed, I worked as a freelance consultant on educational projects in Berlin and contributed my expertise as a lecturer at various universities. My subsequent time as a research assistant in a research project on the construction of gender in adolescence at Osnabrück University, in which I - as the first person in my family - completed my doctorate, was particularly formative.

Since 2008, I have been the university's central Equal Opportunity Representative and head the dedicated team at the Equal Opportunity Office. Here I am committed to ensuring that diversity and equality are not just buzzwords, but are actively practiced. In an institution as diverse and hierarchical as a university, my aim is to take as many people as possible with me on the path to greater equality and diversity.

As a mother of two children, I am aware of the challenges that family and career bring with them. These experiences motivate me every day to fight for a fairer future. My strengths lie in communication, inclusion and diplomacy - skills that I use to build bridges and drive change.
