Welcome Week for International Exchange Students
Our Welcome Week for new international exchange students at Osnabrück University in the winter semester 2025 will take place from October 1 to 11, 2025. During this time, you can expect a varied program with information events, city and campus tours, get-togethers and various excursions. The updated program will be published during the summer.

Welcome Week program in the winter semester 2025/2026
8:30 - 10:00 a.m. | Welcome session for new exchange students
Meeting point: Building 15, Room E16, Seminarstr. 20
- Handing out of information folders/bags
- Payment of the fees for the excursion to Bremen
- Welcome
- Presentation of the excursion program
- Division into groups for registration at Citizens’ Office (Bürgeramt) and campus tour
10:00 a.m. | Presentation of our excursion program, introduction to Stud.IP and HisinOne +

11:00 - approx. 13:30 | Information on student residences and help with formalities

14:00 | Workshop: Introduction to academic culture in Germany (virtual event)

- Your digital ticket
- Your Passport
- Your landlords’ certificate (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung)
2:00 p.m. | Presentation of the Writing Center

2:30 p.m. | Digital Application for Residence Permit with the Foreigners’ Office
Meeting point: Building 15, Room E16, Seminarstr. 20
Only for students who have arrived without a visa or only with a short-term visa!
Please bring with you:
- Scan of your passport
- Scan of the entry stamp (if no visa was required for entry)
- Scan of the enrolment certificate
- Scan of the admission to study in Osnabrück
- Scan of the visa if available
- Scan of health insurance, proof of funding, scholarship certificate (if applicable)
- Scan of housing provider confirmation
- Registration confirmation (City of Osnabrück)
If a document is not available as a scan, it can also be scanned directly with a smartphone camera during the registration process at the Immigration Office.
Please bring a laptop or tablet with you!
