Spanish with Camila
Hello everyone!
My name is Camila, and I’m from Mexico City. I’m currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück. I’ve always been interested in languages and how people communicate, especially how language connects us with different cultures.
At the Language Café, I would love to support you in practicing Spanish in a relaxed and friendly environment. My goal is to create a space where everyone feels comfortable speaking, making mistakes, and learning naturally through conversation.
I’d be happy to see you there. Feel free to join and enjoy a relaxed space to practice and connect with others through language.
Armenian with Amalya
Hello everyone! I am Amalia from Armenia. I am pursuing my Bachelor's in Osnabrück and look forward to sharing my culture and language with anyone interested in a new challenge. Armenian is a wide, diverse and unique language, and when people even just give it a try, we natives find it truly fascinating. It is particularly special as it stands alone in the Indo-European family, with no closely related languages of its own branch.
In our Language Café, we can dive right in. Linguistics students are welcome to explore the full history of the language, while anyone curious about Armenian and Caucasian culture can get a broad introduction, learning phrases, having conversations, and much more.
Looking forward to meeting you and having an informative and fun time at our Language Café!
Japanese with Haruto
Hello everyone!
Are you interested in Japanese culture, anime, or traveling to Japan?
My name is Haruto Umeki, and I’m from Japan. I’m an exchange student at Osnabrück University from the winter semester of 2025 to the summer semester of 2026. At my home university, I am majoring in Japanese language education as a second anguage.
Through various activities — from learning basic hiragana to exploring cultural topics — I’d love to communicate with you in Japanese! I’m looking forward to meeting you in a warm and friendly atmosphere with fun games and events!
Spanish with Ilianna
I‘m Ilianna, from Venezuela. I‘ve been living in Germany for a few years now and currently studying Biology and Spanish at the university. During this time i‘ve come to really value conversations with people from different backgrounds - there‘s something special about sharing stories, experiences, and everyday moments through Language. For me, the Language Café is a space to slow down and just talk, without pressure or expectations. You don‘t need perfect grammar or the „Right“ words - what matters is feeling comfortable enough to express yourself and be understood. Little by little, those small conversations help you feel more confident. I‘ve love for this to be a place where we can exchange ideas, laugh, talk about cultures, personal interests and simply enjoy practicing Spanish together in a natural way. I‘m really looking forward to meeting you - feel free to come by, sit with us, and just start a conversation. ¡ Te esperamos !
Japanese with Kyota
こんにちは!
I’m Kyota Hosokawa from Japan. If you want to know about Japan, I’d love to talk with you!
I love Japanese food, anime, and football! At my table, I want to focus on the joy of communicating with people rather than being perfect. Let’s enjoy communicating and discovering Japanese culture together. I’m looking forward to meeting you all!
Spanish with Martin
Hola! I’m Martín (25) from Córdoba, Argentina. I’ve been living in Germany for three years, studying Cognitive Science, and trying to figure out how human communication actually works. Full disclosure: I cannot say that I know many languages, and honestly, learning languages doesn’t always come easy to me! But I’m fascinated by the mechanics of it, from early guttural sounds to our modern interactions, this evolution drives me to questions such as: How would this sound in its original language? Who made this translation, and why? What if I forget how to speak tomorrow? So to make sure we don't forget how to speak or at least have a back up plan, my goal in the Language Café is to build a practical space. We aren't here for rigid perfection. We will use our sessions to embrace the chaos of learning: asking questions, inevitably generating new doubts, figuring out how to express our day-to-day emotions, and applying Spanish directly to your real life. I want to understand your projects and interests, share a bit of my culture, and keep my connection to Argentina alive while living abroad. We are here to explore, make mistakes, and learn from each other. Te espero!
Greek with Stratos
Hello!
My name is Stratos and I come from Greece, it is a beautiful country with a large cultural background, as well as inspirations from different places.
I am studying Physics as a Master's Student in the university and I would love to connect with people from as many different countries as possible and discover new cultures/languages. If you are like me, I can teach you everything of interest about my country, mainly the unique language, the history and the culture, as I believe they are very interesting. I have experience in teaching Physics at a highschool level.
I hope to meet as many people as possible in the Language Café!
Korean with Yujin
Hi! I’m Yujin Go, and I’m excited to be your Korean mentor!
I am personally interested in other cultures and languages! I major in English, and I am studying Spanish, and Deutsch by myself. I love to read books, go to the library and museums. I like to bake, so I am always looking for new dessert trends! Language is all about communication and culture. In my sessions, we won't be using boring textbooks. Instead, we’ll dive into real-life Korean expressions through engaging, interactive conversations.
We’ll share interesting cultural traditions, compare similarities and differences between our home countries, and talk about our own experiences. It will be a fully two-way cultural exchange! I'll bring some fun cultural topics, and I’d love to hear your stories in return. Let’s make language learning an enjoyable journey together. Can't wait to meet you all!
