The consecutive Master's degree course in Psychology: Focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy enables students to expand on existing basic knowledge from a Bachelor's degree course that complies with licensing regulations. In addition to in-depth methodological training, the course allows a high degree of specialization and profile development in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy.

The overriding qualification objective of the Master's degree course is to prepare students for a clinical-psychological and psychotherapeutic career through a high degree of practical exercises and the practical relevance of what they have learned. This high level of practical relevance of the Master's degree program is achieved in particular through the Professional Qualifying Activities (BQT) II and III, in which students practice basic psychotherapeutic techniques in role plays and gain experience in real treatment settings and in direct contact with patients.

The Master's degree course in Psychology: Focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy was designed on the basis of the licensing regulations and contains all the content required for licensing in the Master's degree course. It is therefore a standard admission requirement for the licensing examination to become a psychological psychotherapist.

The Master's degree in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy qualifies students for the entire range of clinical-psychological professional activities, for example in the field of clinical diagnostics and intervention, clinical-therapeutic work and work in various counseling facilities. In addition, the four-semester Master's degree course is one of the standard admission requirements for the licensing examination to become a psychological psychotherapist. The Institute of Psychology then offers two continuing  education degrees. There is also the option of completing a scientific activity or Doctorate following the degree course.
