Mathematics - Master of Science
The Master's degree program in Mathematics takes students from a mathematical subfield to the problems of current research. At the same time, the basic mathematical knowledge from the Bachelor's degree program is supplemented.
The Master's degree program in Mathematics takes students from a mathematical subfield to the problems of current research. At the same time, the basic mathematical knowledge from the Bachelor's degree course is supplemented. The program is designed to enable graduates to quickly and independently familiarize themselves with new areas, including those outside of mathematics. For this reason, the course also includes the study of an applied subject. The two-year course consists of a one-year teaching program followed by a study project and a Master's thesis.
Applied Systems Science, Business Administration Cognitive Science, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Physics or Economics can be chosen as an application subject.
Many areas of science, technology and business are becoming increasingly mathematical in order to precisely formulate and model their content and solve their problems. Graduates of the course can be employed in all areas in which analytical thinking, mathematical modeling or mathematical methods are in demand.

Applicants in possession of international certification must demonstrate sufficient levels of German Language Proficiency.

The examination regulations do not prescribe an obligatory period of study abroad. However, a number of Options for Studying Abroad are available to you within a range of exchange programs. The International Office will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
