The Master's degree program in Mathematics takes students from a mathematical subfield to the problems of current research. At the same time, the basic mathematical knowledge from the Bachelor's degree course is supplemented. The program is designed to enable graduates to quickly and independently familiarize themselves with new areas, including those outside of mathematics. For this reason, the course also includes the study of an applied subject. The two-year course consists of a one-year teaching program followed by a study project and a Master's thesis.

Applied Systems Science, Business Administration Cognitive Science, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Physics or Economics can be chosen as an application subject.

Many areas of science, technology and business are becoming increasingly mathematical in order to precisely formulate and model their content and solve their problems. Graduates of the course can be employed in all areas in which analytical thinking, mathematical modeling or mathematical methods are in demand.
