Arriving in Germany

The international airports closest to Osnabrück are  Münster/Osnabrück,  Bremen,  Düsseldorf,  Hannover,  Hamburg. Due to the amount of available connections,  Berlin,  Frankfurt am Main and  Amsterdam (Schiphol) are viable and cost-efficient alternatives. In the following, you can find detailed information on how to get from each one these airports to Osnabrück Cental Station.

Follow the signs and walk to the bus stop "Greven, FMO". Buy a ticket and catch the bus X15 which takes you straight to the city center of Osnabrück (40 mins ride and operates every other hour).

  1. Follow the signs to the streetcar station "Flughafen". Buy a ticket to the central station (operates every 10 minutes), catch the tramline 6 and get off at "Hauptbahnhof" (10 stops).
  2. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

  1. Follow the signs to the SkyTrain and buy a short distance ticket at the station. The SkyTrain operates daily from 3:45 am to 00:45 am every 3.5 - 7 minutes between the terminal and main-line station. The journey between the two termini "Terminal C" and "Bahnhof Düsseldorf Flughafen" takes about 6.5 minutes. When the SkyTrain is not operating, a bus transfer is guaranteed between the "Düsseldorf Flughafen" station, car parks 4 and 5 and the terminal. Busses depart from the station, level 0, every 20 minutes from 01:05 am to 03:25 am.
  2. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany. From there, regional trains to different German city stations leave regularly. You can also catch an intercity (IC) or intercity express (ICE) line to Osnabrück.

  1. Follow the signs to the train station. Escalators and lifts take you from the arrival area to the "S-Bahn" station. Buy a ticket and get on the S5 (Hannover Airport Line) which runs every 30 minutes and takes you straight to the Hannover main train station.
  2. Buy a train ticket to "Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof" in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

  1. Follow the signs to the train station. The train station is directly in front of the terminals and can be reached by escalators. Buy a ticket and catch the S1 which takes you straight to the main train station ("Hamburg Hauptbahnhof"). Traveling time to the main train station is around 25 mins. The trains leave the airport from 04:33 am until 00:13 am every 10-20 minutes.
  2. From Hamburg main train station, intercity (IC) or intercity express (ICE) trains go to Osnabrück hourly (travel time approx. 2 hours). The last train from Hamburg main train station to Osnabrück leaves already at 10:46 pm every day. Keep that in mind before you book a flight which arrives late in Hamburg.
  3. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

TXL

  1. Follow the signs to the bus stops in front of the terminals A or B. Buy a ticket and take the TXL JetExpressBus to the main train station ("Berlin Hauptbahnhof").
  2. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

BER

  1. Follow the signs to the train station "Flughafen BER" on level U2 below Terminal 1. Buy a ticket and take a train to the main train station ("Berlin Hauptbahnhof").
  2. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

SXF / BER T5

  1. Follow the signs to the Regional Train Station (Regionalbahn – Airport Express), buy a ticket and take the train RE17, RB15 or S9 to the main train station ("Berlin Hauptbahnhof").
  2. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

Terminal 1

  1. Follow the signs to the Regional Train Station (Regionalbahnhof) or Long Distance Train Station (Fernbahnhof).
  2. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

Terminal 2

  1. Take the direct shuttle bus to Terminal 1 and the airport train stations (the shuttle stop is on level two just outside the terminal.) The shuttle leaves every 10 minutes starting at 05:30 am and continuing throughout the whole day. Please note that there is no shuttle between 00:00 am and 05:30 am, so please follow the signs "Train Stations via Sky Line" during that time.
  2. Buy a train ticket to Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof in the "Deutsche Bahn" Travel Center (DB Reisezentrum) or  Online prior to your departure to Germany.

 Buy a ticket and take an intercity train (IC) that leaves directly from Schiphol Airport. IC trains with connections to Osnabrück leave the airport every 30 minutes (travel time approx. 3.5 - 4 hours)
