About

At the moment, I am a visiting professor at the Departmen of Vocational Education Studies and represent the research group "Vocational Education with a Focus on Didactics and Teacher Education".

Other than that, I am a senior lecturer in the field of vocational education, continuing vocational training and lifelong learning in the Faculty of Education and Educational Sciences at the University of Bremen. I am also a senior researcher at the Institute of Technology and Education (ITB) at the University of Bremen.

Research interests

I developed an interdisciplinary approach and a focus on international contexts during my studies and qualification phases within:

  • Internationalization of vocational education and training,
  • Systems and comparisons of vocational education and training,
  • Innovations in dual qualification systems,
  • Vocational and in-company education and training,
  • Competence requirements and qualification of company training and further training,
  • Training personnel in the context of digitalization.

Qualifications

  • 2013–2018: Dissertation. Title: Education transfer in the corporate context
  • 2011–2013: M.Sc. in Economics, full-time studies
  • 2008–2011: B. Sc. in Finance, part-time studies

Experience in industry

After vocational dual apprenticeship training as a bank clerk from 2006-2008, and worked in this occupation for three more years and completed a part-time degree in business administration. I then completed a Master's degree in Economics with a specialization in vocational and business education at the University of Cologne.

International experience

I spent a semester abroad at Corvinus University in Budapest during my Master studies; in the context of my research projects, I conducted field research in Greece, in Serbia and in the Philippines, among others. Of course, representation of research results on international conferences (for example, ECER; Stockholm International Conference on VET; Crossing Boundaries) is an annual must.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach in Vocational Teacher Education (Bachelor or Arts; Bachelor of Science; Master of Education), as well as in Educational Science (Bachelor of Arts; Master of Arts).
