Mobility for Teaching Purposes at ERASMUS Partner Universities (STA)
Staff Mobility (STA1) and Company Staff Mobility (STA2)
ERASMUS supports guest lectureships at European partner universities (STA1), that hold an ERASMUS University Charter. The guest lecturers should contribute to strengthening the European dimension of the host university through their stay, complement its range of courses and impart their specialist knowledge to students who may not be able or do not want to study abroad. The exchange should contribute to developing joint study programs between the two partner universities, including the exchange of teaching content and methods. Teaching exchanges must last at least two days (except for the UK, where stays must last at least five days) and can last up to a maximum of ten days and include at least eight hours of teaching per working week (five working days).
Funding is also available for periods of training for company personnel from abroad at German universities (STA2) in order to strengthen cooperation between universities and commercial enterprises.
Application procedure
The announcement of funding for Erasmus staff mobility is usually made before courses commence each winter semester by email via the Erasmus departmental coordinators. Applications to participate in staff exchanges for 2024/25 can be submitted until October 31, 2024 (or later in consultation with Ms Bartke).
Documents to be submitted are the online application and the Mobility Agreement (DOCX, 50 kB), which must be drafted together with the host institution. Please log into the online portal with your LDAP ID and start the online application. Please submit the PDF file of the completed online application together with your Mobility Agreement to your Erasmus departmental coordinator so that they can forward all applications to the International Office. Exchange opportunities for staff mobilities for teaching in 2024/25 with the respective European partner universities can be found in our exchange database.

Selection Procedure:
The decision on the allocation of funds will be made – where necessary if funds are not sufficient - in cooperation with an internal selection committee. The committee will base its decision on the selection criteria (e.g. first-time application, funding of young researchers, reciprocity, links to other exchange activities) in accordance with EU guidelines.
