Student Initiatives
Tandem Project Welcome@UOS
In close cooperation with the International Office, the student-led DAAD initiative Welcome@UOS organizes a tandem project for refugee students, guest auditors, and refugees interested in studying at Osnabrück University.
The program aims at facilitating contact between Osnabrück students and refugees. As part of this encounter, participants engage in linguistic, cultural, and personal exchange. Refugees receive support in finding their way around Osnabrück University. The initiative takes place every semester and can accommodate between 40-50 participants. At the start of each semester, the initiative commences with a two-day workshop on how to gain access to the university, but also on cultural sensitization and self-reflection.
Aside from regular contact between the tandem partners, Welcome@UOS also organizes a variety of workshops and events. The initiative has adapted to the COVID19 situation and continues undeterred.
If you have questions or would like to register, please feel free to contact the Welcome@UOS team. Also keep an eye out on our calls for participants in the weeks leading up to the semester.

Refugee Law Clinic
The Refugee Law Clinic (RLC) offers independent, free legal consultation for refugees. It is a student-led initiative supported by experienced lawyers and legal scholars. The RLC has been training consultants since the summer term 2017, who will supplement existing offers by Exil e.V., Caritas, and the Deaconry Osnabrück.
