International Face Time (IFT)

For our Summer School participants, we offer a buddy program called "International Face Time" (IFT). IFT means that you will be matched to a local student from Osnabrück University, thus gaining an excellent opportunity to immerse in Osnabrück student life and culture. Shortly before the program begins, we'll connect you with your IFT Partner and give you a chance to get to know each other.

Creating a Match

In order to get to know you better and to find a suitable IFT-buddy for you, we have prepared a short online-form with a few questions about your studies, interests and experiences. Both of you will complete this form before the Summer School starts. As a result, you will both receive each other's respective contact information.

Enabling the Connection

Equipped with each other's contact info, you are now free to get to know your buddy. You can do this via e-mail, Facebook, Skype or other social media platforms you are familiar with. Asking about what to bring to Germany, where to go in Osnabrück, what to do in your spare time, etc. has greatly improved former Summer School participants' experiences.

Meeting in Person

After having gotten to know each other, both you and your IFT Partner will be invited to a Welcome Breakfast hosted by the International Office. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to participate in some common activities in and around Osnabrück, including an International Picnic, a Farewell Dinner and an Intercultural Awareness Workshop. Moreover, the Summer School's schedule includes some spare time dedicated to IFT leisure activities (i. e. exploring the city, having a cup of coffee together, cooking, shopping, etc.).
